Crawl through “the earth” via a model of a soil profile. Explore root systems, soil animals, decomposers, foods that grown undergroundInvestigate soils, observe earthworms, and create a soil profile.

    Groundwater Model

With grant money awarded by Lowcountry Resource Conservation & Development, Beaufort Conservation District was able to purchase this unique model that demonstrates how water travels under the ground and how our above ground actions effect our groundwater

supply.                                                              

The District was awarded an additional grant in 2010 to sponsor additional Water Quality programs to area students.

            

             Appropriate for 5th graders and above.

Horseshoe Crabs

Our educators have learned all about the fascinating Horseshoe Crabs.    This interactive program helps students understand how these crabs fit in the animal kingdom.  These curious critters are prevalent in our local waters and learn how they help us!
